Life in the 80s[edit]

2:30am at a 7-11 near Disney World - 1987 is exactly what the title says, a time capsule of 1987. You can find some context and background at this blog post.

Computer History[edit]

Xerox Humor Tapes[edit]

Xerox XPS 701 Humor is an apparently professionally produced video from 1986 in which the Xerox marketing team (presumably) does a series of riffs on a Xerox workstation. It's fairly raw footage, so you can hear the rest of the team cackling at the end of each segment.

Xerox Viewpoint Future Developments is another comedic film from Xerox's marketing dept, supposedly from two years earlier - suggesting this was a regular thing for them.

Graphics[edit]

The World of Elixir - 1988-89 Elixir seems to have been a IBM PC software-based computer graphics creation system. This is a set of training presentations detailing its capabilities and use.

Film[edit]

A Movie About Movies appears to be an advertisement for a film production house, showcasing a decent spread of dramatized behind-the-scenes peeks at late-60s small-time filmmaking and commercial production.

Natural Science[edit]

Private Life of a Cat (1947) - A very early entry in the "anyone with a camera will eventually point it at a cat" genre. CW: Graphic birth.
